Zell am See is right on the Tauernradweg cycleway, leading all the way from Krimml to the Mozart city of Salzburg. It is equally popular with cyclists and E-bikers. Racing bikers and mountain bikers however also have plenty available to them with tours of all levels of difficulty in the region around Zell am See. There are also single trails for ambitious bikers seeking a challenge.
A bike is the perfect way of appreciating the beauty of the scenery and discovering the variety on offer in the region. Cycling around the Zell Lake is a pleasant, easy ride, the Kapruner Moos has romantic places to stop at, and the Großglockner presents a challenge for athletes.

The Zell Lake is just a few minutes walk from the hotel and is an oasis of water that is perfect for relaxing, enjoying, and simply letting your spirit roam free. The wonderful views over the lake and of the scenery are best enjoyed on a panorama boat trip on the Zell Lake. Those who enjoy sport are in their element here, whether it be swimming, diving, sailing, stand-up paddling, or kayaking.

Enjoy fantastic views of Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner, from the Großglockner High Alpine Road. A wonderful experience for children and adults alike. As you travel along the road, you witness impressive wonders of nature on either side. There are interesting and varied exhibitions to stop off at and children love the 4 special themed playground areas.
Experienced climbers can take on the challenge of conquering Austria’s highest mountain.
No visitors could fail to be impressed by the wonders of nature such as the Krimml waterfalls, the highest waterfalls in Europe, or the “Wasser-Wunder-Welt”, a journey into the world of water. The same goes for the “Sigmund-Thun-Klamm” Gorge in Kaprun where you walk along a walkway with water thundering around you, and for the Mooserboden high altitude reservoirs, giving you the chance to marvel at the glaciers of the Hohe Tauern and the lush green of the Alpine pastures.
Kaprun Castle takes you on a journey in time back to the middle ages. An event that is very popular every year is the Burgfest in July. The local history museum gives you insight into the life of Alpine farmers of yesteryear, with displays of their various tools and crafts.
Young guests especially love a visit to the Ferleiten Animal Park, with numerous different species of animals such as wolves, brown bears, snow eagles and raccoons to observe in their huge enclosures. There is also a petting zoo for smaller children. Salzburg Zoo is just an hour by car from Zell am See.
On a family holiday in Zell am See, the Maisiflitzer in Kaprun is certainly an experience not to be missed. It gives you the chance to enjoy tobogganing fun throughout the year. At speeds of up to 40 km/h summer tobogganists speed down the 1.3 km into the valley.
After travelling up on the chairlift, the summer toboggan run in Saalfelden offers pure tobogganing pleasure. It has 63 bends and is 1.6 km long, guaranteed great summer fun for all the family.
