A walk along the high altitude promenade, a hike up the Schmitten mountain, or high Alpine tours: the hiking paradise around Zell am See-Kaprun has a wealth of routes and trails of every difficulty waiting to be discovered and explored. Those wishing to take it easy can use the lifts to take them up into the mountains to marvel at the panorama of peaks without having to exert themselves too much. The CityXpress gondola lift is right next to the hotel and takes you up into the wonderful hiking area on the Schmittenhöhe.

The Plettsaukopf high altitude lake is just 10 min walk from the midstation and gives you a breathtaking view over the Zell Lake. Don’t forget to take your summing things with you; the lake is relatively shallow, so is pleasantly warm in summer, and who wouldn’t want to jump into a lake at 1300 m above sea level?

  • Mountain biking on the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun: there are 3 mountain bike freeride trails, a total of 16 km in length, on the Kitzsteinhorn. Take the lift up to the Alpincenter at 2450 m above sea level and head down the 3 trails
  • Tour up the Hundstein: 16.8 km and a height difference of 1.360 metres
  • Tour to the Erlhofplatte: 21.3 km and a height difference of 847 metres

After travelling up on the chairlift, the summer toboggan run in Saalfelden offers pure tobogganing pleasure. It has 63 bends and is 1.6 km long, guaranteed great summer fun for all the family.
